Saw a huge difference in my layouts after switching to a 0.5mm lead holder
I used a standard 0.7mm mechanical pencil for years on my wood frame drafts and never thought twice. Then I borrowed a 0.5mm Rotring from a coworker in St. Louis last Tuesday and my linework came out way cleaner and more precise. The graphite breakage took some getting used to but the control is just better. Has anyone else found a simple tool swap that changed their drafting game?

the real game changer for me wasn't even the lead size but the lead hardness. i picked up a 2H lead for my 0.5 holder by accident and that stuff is night and day for light layout lines that still photograph well. you can barely see it on the paper but it scans perfect then switch to a softer lead for the final ink. also found those cheap plastic lead holders feel way different than a metal one the weight alone stops your hand from shaking on those long straight lines.
