That old draftsman in Dallas showed me why my line weights were all wrong

Last month I was struggling with my architectural drawings looking flat. A retired guy named Jerry spent 20 minutes at the local coffee shop explaining how he uses a 0.3mm lead holder for details and a 0.7mm for everything else. Has anyone else gotten a game-changing tip from an old pro you just met?

Totally get that feeling, it's like a lightbulb goes off when someone who's been doing it forever drops a simple trick like that. Bet Jerry's kind of a legend in his own quiet way.

Did you ever try asking Jerry about how he learned that? That kind of stuff is gold when you're starting out and feel like you're doing everything wrong. For me, it was this older guy named Mike who showed me how to properly set up a workbench once. Took like two minutes but saved me hours of frustration later. Its crazy how one little tip can stick with you for years after.

Yeah, isn't it wild how the smallest tip from someone who knows their stuff can just change everything? I had a guy show me the right way to cut a straight line with a circular saw once and it saved me so much wasted material.
