That time a senior guy told me to stop drawing every single fastener

Honestly, it was during a review for a conveyor system in a Detroit plant. He said 'If you draw every bolt, you're just making a pretty picture, not a buildable print.' He insisted the shop would just follow the standard callout. Has anyone else had a lead push back on your detail level like that?

My buddy got the same lecture for drawing every single weld bead on a pressure vessel.

Yeah @young.nora, I learned to just call out the weld type and length in a note.

Honestly seems like a weird hill to die on for the engineer. Like @joel_hall17 said, a note should cover it just fine. Doubt the drawing police are gonna come for you over some weld beads.
