Took a week to switch from CAD to a plain text workflow and I'm sticking with it

I was sure I needed heavy software to keep track of revisions, but after 5 days of using a simple markdown file with timestamps, I found errors way faster and it cut my drafting time by a third. The search function beat any layer manager I used. Has anyone else ditched a standard tool for something dumber and gotten better results?
