Appreciation post: The old dredge they have on display at the Port of Tacoma

I was down at the Port of Tacoma last week and they have this old bucket ladder dredge just sitting there as a display piece. It's the Foss 100, and you can walk right up to it. The thing that got me was the size of the individual buckets, each one looked like it could hold a small car. It really makes you think about how much work those old machines did before we had all the modern cutter suction gear. I spent a good hour just looking at the wear patterns on the links and thinking about the guys who ran it. Has anyone else seen a cool piece of dredging history on display near them?

Switching to a standing desk for part of the day helped me a ton. I got a cheap one that sits on top of my regular desk. I try to stand for an hour, then sit for an hour, and it keeps the stiffness away. A firm memory foam pillow for my chair made a big difference too.

Ugh, tell me about it. I switched to a standing desk last year and it was a total game changer for my back too.
