I dropped $400 on a bad dredge pump impeller last month

I swapped to a cheaper aftermarket impeller from some online shop after my OEM one cracked. It threw off the balance so bad the whole pump vibrated like crazy and I had to pull it after just 6 hours. Anyone else get burned by off-brand parts or is there a decent budget option out there?

Buddy of mine tried the same thing with a hydraulic filter... saved like thirty bucks and three hours later his whole system sounded like a bag of rocks. Cost him way more to fix the damage than the OEM part would have been. He said the off-brand stuff sometimes just isn't machined to the same tolerances and it throws everything off. Kinda makes you wonder how they get away with selling that junk.

Wouldn't that just be bad luck though, plenty of guys run aftermarket parts for years with zero issues lol?
