Serious question about cutterhead bearing grease in the Galveston Ship Channel
After 6 months of running a 12-inch cutterhead in heavy clay and sand last summer, I pulled the bearing housing and found water mixed with the grease, so what brand of waterproof grease have you guys had luck with in tough conditions like that?

Lubriplate 930-AA. That stuff stays put in wet conditions. Works way better than the cheap general grease most guys run.

Did you used to be one of those guys running the cheap stuff too? I definitely was until I had a wheel bearing scream at me on a muddy trail and learned my lesson real quick.
