Tried a 4-inch suction line on a sandy riverbed in Missouri last week

Thought a bigger line would mean faster work but it kept clogging every 20 minutes on sandbars. Had to switch back to the 6-inch every time to clear it. Anyone else run into this when the sediment changes mid-job?

Buddy of mine tried that same trick on the Platte River and spent half a day unclogging lol.

Yeah exactly, most people don't realize how fast that stuff turns into a solid block once it hits cold water. He's lucky he didn't have to take the whole thing apart.

Had a buddy do that on the Kern River. Took him three hours to break it all loose.
