Am I the only one who tapes inside corners dry before mudding them?

I tried pre-taping my inside corners with no mud behind the paper and then hitting them with a quick coat after they dried, and it cut a full 20 minutes off each room I did last week, has anyone else found this trick actually works or am I setting myself up for cracking down the road?

Dude that's actually genius, I've been wasting so much time trying to get mud behind the tape in those tight corners and it never looks right anyway.

Is it really that serious for a mud job though?

and I'm right there with you grant, that trick is a lifesaver. I spent a whole Saturday wrestling with pre-fill on an inside corner last month, ended up with more mud on my jeans than on the wall. @taylor12 it might not seem like a big deal, but when you're doing a whole room those little shortcuts add up fast. The way the tape floats in without you having to jam a knife back there trying to smooth it out, it just saves your wrists too. Honestly I wish I'd figured that out like ten jobs ago.
