Disagree about the no-mesh tape rule for corners

I keep hearing guys say mesh tape is useless for inside corners, but I switched to it three years ago on a job in Bakersfield and my crack rate dropped to almost zero. The trick is to bed it in all-purpose mud, not the lightweight stuff. Has anyone else found success with mesh in corners or am I the only one?

Did you bed it in all-purpose or lightweight? Because thats the whole secret honestly. I tried mesh with lightweight compound once and it was a total disaster alligator cracks everywhere. Then a buddy who builds custom homes out in Tucson told me to use the all-purpose stuff and its been smooth sailing ever since. The texture is thicker so it really fills the joint and gives the tape something to grab onto. Ive got a few rentals here that I patched three years ago with mesh and all-purpose and not a single crack has shown up.

Started using FibaFuse on a house in Phoenix, same great results.

Admitted I was skeptical about fiberglass mesh tape until @nancycooper convinced me to try it on a rental here in Tucson. Changed my mind completely after the first patch job.
