Finally tried that 'wet sponge' trick for sanding corners after my buddy in Tacoma swore by it for a decade.
I was convinced it was just extra work until I used a damp cellulose sponge on a tricky inside corner last week and cut my sanding time in half, so has anyone else got a weird old-school method that actually works?

My uncle in Spokane used a damp sponge for 30 years and it never damaged the paper.

Well, the "damp sponge for 30 years" method sounds like my kind of home repair, where you just commit to one wrong tool for your entire adult life. I used a butter knife as a screwdriver for so long I almost forgot what the real thing looked like. My walls would probably tell a different story than your uncle's in Spokane.

That's a great trick, but it's actually a wet rag you want, not a sponge. A sponge holds too much water and can oversaturate the drywall paper. A damp rag gives you just enough moisture to soften the dust without making a mess.
