Pro tip: Stop using mesh tape on inside corners

A old timer contractor told me after watching me struggle for 20 minutes that paper tape with a slight crease down the middle actually bonds way better and I haven't touched mesh since, anyone else find paper easier for corners?

Yeah I used to swear by mesh for everything because I thought it was faster and easier to work with. But then I tried paper on a tricky corner job and realized the bond is just way more solid, no bubbling or peeling later. Now I actually crease the paper down the middle like you said and it sits in the mud way better than mesh ever did.

Wait, you actually CREASE the paper tape down the middle? Like a fold? That's wild to me, I've never heard anyone do that before. I always just jammed it in there and hoped for the best, but now I'm thinking that's why my corners always looked like garbage after a month. Gotta try that next time.
