Walked into a house in Denver and every corner bead was held on with hot glue
Dude said it was faster and I stood there watching him glue a 10 foot corner bead to the wall while I just shook my head and asked if he's ever heard of a gun.

he said it was faster" yeah I bet it was fast until the first time that bead gets bumped and pops right off. hot glue has no flex so on a 10 foot span in denver where the humidity changes all the time that thing is gonna crack and separate in like a month. i wouldve just walked out honestly, let him deal with the callbacks when the whole corner starts sagging.

Ha, that cheap party favor sound is exactly what I'm picturing. My luck, I'd be the one who bumps it and then has to explain to the homeowner why their corner bead is hanging off like a loose tooth. Probably would snap off while I'm trying to fix something else and hit me right in the shin. At least with nails or screws you know it's staying put, even if it takes a few extra seconds. Hot glue is just asking for a bad time on a job like that.

Jumped into a job a few years back where the guy had hot glued every corner bead in a basement, and same thing. I bumped one with my ladder and it popped off with a sound like a cheap party favor, leaving a sticky mess behind. You're dead right about the humidity thing too, that whole corner was wavy within two months and he was blaming the drywall for swelling.
