Warning: Using a reciprocating saw to cut drywall is a terrible idea

I tried it on a job last month because my utility knife kept breaking. Figured a saw would be faster. Nope. It kicked up SO much dust my helper couldn't see 3 feet in front of him. Plus the edges were all jagged and needed way more sanding. Took me twice as long to finish that room. Anyone else tried something dumb like this and regretted it?

Did you try scoring it first with a knife and then snapping it? That's what I do when I need to cut drywall fast without the mess. A straightedge and a sharp utility knife work way better for me than any power tool in that situation.

Did you try just telling it nicely to break in half first?

Hah, you actually score drywall for a living or just YouTube tutorials?
