Hot take: frozen dumplings from the Asian market are better than homemade half the time
I know this is probably gonna ruffle some feathers here, but hear me out. I used to be one of those people who swore handmade was always better. Then I had a late night last month where I was too tired to fold and just grabbed a bag of frozen potstickers from H Mart for $4.50. Honestly, the texture was perfect and the filling was way more consistent than my own. I'm not saying homemade is bad, but for a Tuesday night with zero effort? Frozen might have the edge. What do you all think? Is there a line where convenience beats tradition, or am I just being lazy?

Did you try pan frying them straight from frozen or did you boil them? I find getting the right crust matters more than if they're homemade or not. The H Mart ones hold up really well in a hot pan with a little oil, just add water and cover for a few minutes. Most people mess up frozen dumplings by not letting the water cook off before the final fry. Once you nail that technique, the convenience argument gets a lot harder to argue against.

Frozen dumplings at H Mart are legitimately good. That filling to wrapper ratio is always on point. I'll take convenience over bragging rights any day.

Honestly, you're right about the H Mart ones. The trick with frozen dumplings is all about that pan fry method diana_west27 mentioned. Tbh, I used to boil mine and they'd come out kinda sad, but once I started doing the steam and then crisp method, it was a game changer. Just don't skip the water step or you'll end up with burnt bottoms and raw filling. That wrapper to filling thing is key though, some brands are all dough and no meat, but H Mart knows what they're doing.
