Neighbor's early morning rant changed how I watch the robins
My neighbor across the street yelled at me last Tuesday at 5:30 AM for standing too close to the bush where the robins nest. He said I was stressing them out and they might abandon their eggs. I thought he was being dramatic, but then I looked it up online and found a study from Cornell that said nesting birds can get spooked by people getting within 10 feet. I've been watching those robins for three weeks now, always getting as close as I could for a good photo. Turns out I might have been messing up their whole breeding cycle without realizing it. Now I keep my distance and use binoculars instead, and honestly I see way more of their natural behavior that way. Has anyone else had to change their bird watching habits after learning something new?

Well bless his heart, I guess I owe that noisy neighbor a thank you cause apparently I've been a bird terrorist with a camera phone.

Bird terrorist with a camera phone. That's a new one. Pretty funny though when you think about it.

Wait but @blair_martin, doesn't that technically mean your neighbor is committing some kind of weird bird-based invasion of privacy? I mean a camera on a pigeon is still a camera pointed at your house.
