The mailman stopped me mid-sentence to point out a goldfinch I was too busy to notice
I was rushing out the door last Tuesday and he just held up his hand, pointed to a branch above my mailbox, and said 'look at that little fellow enjoy the morning.' I never really saw those birds before, just heard them chirping. Has anyone else had a stranger redirect your attention to something beautiful in your own front yard?

I read somewhere that most people never look up, and that mailman proved it. Now I actually stop and glance at the trees before grabbing my mail.

Gotta admit, I've lived in my house for three years and just realized last week there's a giant oak tree in my backyard. Pretty sure I walked past it every single day with my head buried in my phone. Now I'm that weirdo in the neighborhood staring up at branches like I'm expecting a squirrel orchestra to start playing. Honestly though, it's kind of nice. I spotted a whole family of birds I never knew existed up there. So thanks to that mailman I guess, I'm officially one of the "look up" people now.

Rushing around is how things get done, staring at birds doesn't pay the bills.
