Appreciation post: My Fluke 87V just gave up the ghost after 8 solid years

Part of me wants to just buy another one, but maybe it's time to try a different meter. What's your go-to when a trusty tool finally dies?

Gave up the ghost after 8 solid years" is a good run. I was always a Fluke guy too, but trying a different brand last time really opened my eyes.

My old Fluke 87V lasted a decade before the display faded. Switched to a Brymen for half the price and it does the same job. Sometimes brand loyalty just costs you money.

My 87V made it 11 years before the rotary switch got flaky. Lunaf67 has a point about trying something new, it can be a good chance to see what else works for you. Sorry for your loss though, that's a solid meter.
