Got roasted by an inspector for using blue wire nuts on a 4-gang box

Dude chewed me out for 10 minutes about how they're only rated for like 3 #12s max and I was cramming 5 in there. Now I just use Wagos for any box with more than 3 wires, anyone else run into inspectors who are super picky about stuff that's technically fine?

Man I used to be the same way, I thought if the wire nuts fit they were fine. But then I had an inspector fail me for putting six #14s under a red wire nut in a ceiling fan box. I was like come on it's only 15 amps but he pulled out the manufacturer chart and showed me it's only rated for four. That changed my mind quick. Now I just use Wagos for anything with more than three wires too, it's not worth the argument even if it might hold fine. Actually saw a guy lose his whole trim inspection over that once because he had six boxes with the wrong combo and the inspector made him redo all of them.

Totally with you @robert_bell, I just use Wagos now and save the headache.
