I used to think those cheap wire strippers were fine for small jobs
Grabbed a pair from the dollar bin at the hardware store last month for a quick outlet swap at my place. Halfway through, the grip slipped and I nicked the conductor on a 12-gauge solid. Had to cut the whole section out and start over, adding like 20 minutes to a 10-minute job. My old boss used to say 'buy once, cry once' and I finally get it. What's your go-to brand for strippers that actually last?

Ugh, been there... what gauge wire were you working with when it slipped?

Ever try wrapping the wire around the screw before tightening it down?

Yeah it was 14 gauge, such a pain. I switched to using needle nose pliers to get a better grip on the wire ends.
