My gut says to report the shady electrical work I saw today

I was on a job and noticed spliced cables just tucked into insulation. The homeowner shrugged it off as 'previous owner special' but it's a HUGE fire risk. Do I risk my contract by pushing for a proper inspection?

Report it. Nothing like a little electrical surprise to keep life interesting.

Ignoring a weird outlet seems risky though. A flickering light or a warm switch plate could point to a bad connection in the wall. That stuff can slowly get worse over time until it starts a fire. Calling an electrician feels like the boring but safe move, just for peace of mind.
