Saw an old house in Portland this morning with knob and tube still live in the attic
I was doing a panel swap on a 1920s bungalow and found the old knob and tube just hanging there, still hot. The homeowner said they bought the place 5 years ago and never had it checked. I spent 3 hours tracing out what was dead and what wasn't. Has anyone else ran into this where a home inspection just completely missed live knob and tube?

@milaw14 nailed it but honestly I used to think inspectors caught everything too till I found the same thing.

Did you check if any of those old cloth wires were feeding into modern outlets? That's where I usually find the sneaky ones, still live but tied into a junction box behind drywall.
