Unpopular opinion: I hate running conduit in commercial ceilings

Last week I had to fish 200 feet of EMT through a drop ceiling downtown and the guy above me kept shifting the tiles, I swear it took twice as long as it should have, has anyone else dealt with ceiling grid guys who don't care about your work?

Why do ceiling guys act like they're defusing a bomb when they touch a tile? Bet they'd move faster if you dropped a tool on their foot.

Man I've been there, and the trick is to wedge a spare tile behind the loose one before you pull it down. That way if the whole thing shifts you don't end up with a face full of insulation or worse. Also keep your other hand ready to catch any tools or debris that might shake loose when you slide the tile out. It's not about being slow, it's about not having to fix a bigger mess later.

Three out of five ceiling tiles I've touched ended up cracking or dropping dust in my eyes, and honestly I'm the guy who's supposed to know what he's doing. I mean, last time I tried that wedge trick I used a tile that was too thick and it just pushed the whole grid sideways and I had to redo like six tiles. But yeah, the slow and careful approach is definitely better than the alternative of having insulation all over your shirt and in your hair for the rest of the day. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather look like I'm taking it slow than have to explain to my boss why the ceiling looks like a disaster zone.
