Update: I keep seeing people twist wire nuts the wrong way on service calls

I was helping a friend rewire his garage in Austin last month and he had twisted every single wire nut clockwise, which can actually loosen the connection over time. I had to explain that you're supposed to push and turn counter-clockwise until it's tight. How many of you have run into this on a job site?

Actually, you twist them clockwise to tighten.

My whole life is a lie. I was tightening jar lids the wrong way for like 20 years. No wonder my pickles were always suspect.

Always thought it was the other way around. You just fixed years of me doing it wrong.
