Used to run romex everywhere until I saw a commercial job's wiring layout
I was doing resi for like 7 years and just ran romex wherever it fit. Then last spring I helped a buddy on a 40-unit apartment complex and saw how they ran everything in conduit and planned every bend. Totally changed how I look at wire management now. My home shop is all EMT and it takes twice as long but looks so much cleaner. Has anyone else had a commercial job totally change their resi habits?

Once you see how much easier it is to swap a wire or add a circuit in conduit, it's hard to go back to wrestling staples through studs. It’s like the difference between owning tools you just throw in a drawer and having a pegboard where everything has a spot. Makes you wonder what other shortcuts in life are actually just making more work later.

Pulled all my garage wiring after seeing conduit in a warehouse and never looked back.

Wish I could say I did it for the planning, but really I just like how conduit looks in photos.
