Watched a panel go from neat to disaster in 3 years
Went back to a commercial building I roughed in back in 2021, and someone had added 8 junction boxes full of spaghetti all over the place. Whoever did it clearly never heard of wire management. Anyone else hate coming back to find your clean work butchered?

Man, that's the worst feeling. Best thing I've found is to snap a bunch of pics of your finished work and leave a marked up print taped to the panel cover. It won't stop everyone but at least you've got proof of what it looked like.

Yeah, that's exactly how I've been burned before. I had a buddy who swore by tagging his diagrams with 'as built' and the date, but even then some hotshot would come through and 'improve' things without telling anyone. The worst was when I had a panel that took a week to map out perfectly, came back the next month and half the wires were swapped around with no notes. I started taking pictures with my phone showing the timestamp and a ruler in the shot for scale, just to have something to wave around when the finger pointing started. It's a pain but it's saved my hide more than once.

Just lock the panel next time. Physical key beats trust every time.
