A customer's comment about my bench made me rethink my whole setup
A regular client came in to pick up a repaired amp last week and said, 'Your bench looks like a bomb went off, how do you find anything?' I've always thought a messy bench was a sign of a busy, creative mind. But after he said that, I spent an hour organizing my tools and parts bins. It actually cut the repair time on my next job, a Fender Twin Reverb, by about 30 minutes. Has anyone else had a simple comment force a change that actually worked?

Wait, you saved a whole half hour on a Twin Reverb just from cleaning up? That's wild. Those things have like eighty capacitors and a million wires. I bet you weren't digging for a solder sucker or the right value resistor every five minutes. Makes total sense now that I hear it.

Labeled bins for resistors changed my life.

Totally. I did the same thing with my caps drawer last month. Had them all loose in a box before. Now I can grab a 22uf 25v in two seconds flat. Game changer for sure.
