Pro tip: Always ask what they've been cooking in that microwave

Honestly, I got a service request from someone a couple streets away for a buzzing sound in their oven. Tbh, I thought it was just a loose fan or something simple. When I opened it up, there was a whole family of crickets living inside the control board. Ngl, I jumped back a bit. The person had been storing garden supplies in a heated shed and the heat drew them in. Cleaned out the bugs, fixed a chewed wire, and it was good as new. They tried to pay me with homegrown vegetables, which was kind of sweet but weird. Just a reminder to expect the unexpected with in-home repairs.

That cricket family @elizabeth832 found had a better setup than my first apartment, though the veggie rent was weird.

Oh my god, a whole cricket family in the control board! That's seriously wild. I can't get over the fact they were just living in there, like a tiny bug apartment. It's crazy that the heat drew them in, you'd think they'd run from it. The vegetable payment is just the perfect weird ending to that whole story.
