Tried cleaning a corroded Game Boy battery terminal with plain white vinegar instead of isopropyl alcohol and it worked way better than I expected

I soaked a q-tip in regular store brand vinegar and dabbed it on the green crust on a Game Boy Pocket I picked up at a garage sale for $5, let it sit for 2 minutes, then scrubbed with a toothbrush and it came off completely without damaging the contacts like I worried it might has anyone else found vinegar better for certain types of corrosion?

Can barely clean my own coffee mug, so you're basically a genius to me.

Hugs in solidarity my dish sponge is a biohazard at this point.

The key is to soak it right away before it dries, lol. Put the mug in the sink full of hot water and a drop of dish soap overnight if you have to, that softened gunk will slide off with barely any scrubbing. @xenaf51's sponge situation sounds like a whole mood though, a fresh scrub daddy changed my life honestly. Also try a paste of baking soda and vinegar if the stains are really baked on, let it fizz for a few minutes then rinse. Keep a dedicated scrub brush just for coffee mugs so you aren't using that biohazard sponge on them lol. Once you get a system down, it takes like thirty seconds max and you'll feel like a cleaning wizard.
