Bought a cheap knock-off governor tester and it cost me a weekend job
So I picked up this governor tester online for like $150, looked just like the real deal in the pictures. Got it for a job on a Kone Miconic 10, figured I'd save a few bucks. Hooked it up, ran the test, and it gave me a reading that said the governor was way out of spec. Spent the next four hours pulling the whole thing apart, checking cables, the works. Put in a new governor, ran the test again, same reading. Finally called a buddy who brought over his legit tester... turns out the governor was fine the whole time. The cheap tester's calibration was junk. Lost a whole Saturday's pay, about $600, and looked like an idiot in front of the building manager. Anyone have a brand they trust for test gear that won't lie to you?

My cheap multimeter once told me my car battery was a potato.
