Pro tip: I thought a 3/8 drive was fine for every elevator motor coupling bolt, but the one on a 1990s Dover in the old First National building needed a full 1/2 inch breaker bar and a cheater pipe to finally break free.

After fighting it for an hour and nearly rounding the bolt head, I realized that specific model's factory torque spec was way higher than I'd ever seen, so what's the weirdest tool or method you've had to use on an old unit?

Man, that sounds brutal lol. So what did you end up doing, just keep adding pipe until it moved? @the_xena is right, some of these old units are a special kind of stubborn.

Old machines teach you that brute force is often the only REAL language they understand.
