Used to re-level cars with a 2x4 and a prayer until last week

For like 3 years I'd just shove a block of wood under the jack and call it good, even on crooked landings. Last Tuesday my shop steward watched me do it and just handed me a proper leveling jack without saying a word. Anyone else have that moment where you realize you've been making things harder for yourself the whole time?

Three bolts stripped on my last job and the bodge job still outlasted the factory fix.

Yeah I've been there. That factory fix must've been designed on a Friday afternoon lol. @jenny_hall is right, sometimes the janky way is faster and it holds up better too. Idk, maybe it's just me but I always grab a thread file and chase them before I torque anything down.
