Wasted $85 on a 'universal' governor spring tester
Tbh, the cheap one from that online tool site had the wrong fittings and bent on the first pull. Anyone know a solid brand for testing Otis governors specifically?

Oh man, I was totally in the "a tool's a tool" camp... until I wasted a whole afternoon with a bent tester. Now I only trust the old-school, all-metal Simplex gauges for Otis units. The extra weight feels cheap, but that solid bar never gives.

Yeah, that's the worst feeling. Happened to me with a brand new bracket last week, just snapped clean off. Makes you want to just pack it in for the day.
