Back when facials felt like a quiet break, not a data session
I started doing skin care about ten years ago. Back then, a facial was mostly about relaxation and clean skin. We used simple creams and did extractions by hand. Clients would just lie back and enjoy the calm. Now, almost every visit starts with a camera scan of their face. We have to talk about their phone screen time and caffeine intake. I need to know about every serum they use at home. It helps them, sure, but I sometimes miss the quiet, simple touch. Is all this extra info making things better or just more busy?

Yeah... but all that data has to help them somehow, right? Do you actually see better results now, or is it just more stuff to talk about? I wonder if the high-tech way is really that much better for their skin.

Think about those fancy skin scanners that give you charts and numbers. They show your pore size or hydration levels (which you might already feel when your skin is tight). But does tracking every little change actually fix anything, or just make you buy more products? I used an app that said my barrier was weak and pushed a bunch of serums, but my face got red and angry. All that info can turn simple care into a confusing puzzle, and old-school gentle cleanser sometimes works better than high-tech stress.
