Finally cracked the code on lash extension placement after 6 months

Had a client yesterday who kept telling me her lashes felt heavy and weird. I checked my placement and realized I was putting the extensions too close to the lash line. Backed them off by about 1mm and she said it felt like nothing was there. Been doing this since August and nobody taught me that spacing trick. Anyone else figure out a simple adjustment that made a huge difference?

Oh man, "backed them off by about 1mm" - that's such a small tweak but it makes all the difference. I had a similar thing happen when I first started learning how to apply strip lashes on myself. I kept getting them too close to my lash line and they'd poke my inner corner and drive me crazy. Finally I realized if I just scoot them over a tiny bit toward my temple, they sit perfectly and don't bug me at all. It's wild how one millimeter can change the whole feel of something. I swear half the battle in lashes is just figuring out those spacing secrets that nobody tells you upfront.

Honestly did you try trimming the band a little bit too? I trim mine from the outer corner so it sits right before my natural lash line ends and that plus the 1mm shift changed everything for me. The inner corner struggle is real, I used to get so frustrated I'd just give up halfway through and go to bed with one lash on lol. Ngl once you figure out where your eye likes the placement it's like a lightbulb goes off and you never go back. Tbh I think half the battle is just accepting that your eyes are asymmetrical and needing to adjust each side a little differently.

1mm is basically a hair's width but it's the difference between "feels like heaven" and "feels like tiny blindfolds on my eyes." I love how we're out here learning spacing secrets through trial and error instead of anyone just telling us. Must be some kind of lash artist initiation ritual or something.
