I used to think facial oils were a scam until a rough breakout changed my mind
I was at a client's house in Bakersfield last month, and she had this rosehip oil on her shelf. I told her I never bothered with them because they always felt greasy. She dared me to try a drop on a dry patch after a peel, and I was shocked how fast it soaked in and calmed the redness. Three days later my own skin looked better after a bad breakout from a new serum. Anyone else had a product they swore off but now swear by?

Man, same thing happened to me! I heard a dermatologist on a podcast talk about how squalane oil mimics your skin's natural oils so it won't clog pores. I always figured oils were just fancy grease you rub on your face... but I tried a bottle after a sunburn and it calmed the peel way faster than any lotion. Those tiny bottles are expensive, but I just use a drop or two max and it lasts forever.

Three drops of rosehip oil fixed the peeling around my nose after a bad retinoid rash. I was convinced oils would just sit on top of my face and break me out more. Turns out that dry flaky skin just needed the right kind of fat to calm down. Now I keep a bottle in my bathroom cabinet for those angry patches. Never thought I'd be the person defending facial oils but here we are.
