My mentor told me to always patch test a new peel on myself first, even if I've used the brand before.
I got a new 30% glycolic acid solution from a line I trust. I almost skipped testing it because the old formula was fine. I did a small patch on my inner arm anyway. It turned bright red and stung for an hour. That saved me from using it on a client's face. Has anyone else had a formula change mess up a treatment you thought was safe?

Always patch test new batches... formulas can change without warning.

That reformulation thing is a total mood. It's like when they change your favorite chips recipe and the new bag just tastes WRONG. Happens with everything from cleaners to snacks. Matthewmartin is right about patch testing, but man, it's annoying to have to treat a trusted product like a new enemy. Feels like nothing is safe from a "quiet change" these days.
