Swapping a high-end moisturizer for a $12 drugstore one changed my approach to facials
I used to swear by this $85 peptide cream from a fancy brand, but about 6 months ago I switched to a basic glycerin-based lotion from CVS for my morning prep. Honestly, my clients at the shop in Denver haven't noticed a difference in hydration or glow, and I'm saving a ton on product costs. Has anyone else found a cheaper alternative that works just as well for their routine?

Basic glycerin-based lotion from CVS" has me cracking up because that's literally what I'm using now too. I used to drop $60 on this fancy moisturizer that claimed to "retexturize" my face, which is just a fancy way of saying it made me feel like a rich idiot. Now I'm slapping on a $12 bottle of generic stuff and my skin looks exactly the same, maybe even less red because I'm not broke and stressed about my skincare budget anymore. Honestly my biggest glow up came from accepting that my face doesn't care about price tags, it just wants to not be dry.

That $60 bottle was basically paying for the fancy packaging and the stress of trying to use every last drop. Now I just buy the big CVS bottle and my skin is actually happier.

The fancy packaging and stress of trying to use every last drop" is such a good point because I definitely felt guilty if I wasn't getting my money's worth out of that expensive jar. Did you find yourself using less product or rationing it because it cost so much, and do you think that actually made your skin worse? I wonder if I was just making my face dry on purpose to stretch a $60 bottle.
