That training at the Lakewood conference made me drop my hylauronic acid routine

I went to this esthetics workshop in Lakewood last Saturday, and a speaker showed before and after photos from clients who only used glycerin and water for hydration. I always thought hylauronic acid was the gold standard for plumping skin, but she explained how it can actually pull moisture out in dry climates. I tried her glycerin mix on myself for three days, and my dry patches vanished. Has anyone else switched from HA to glycerin after seeing results like that?

...because I was reading about that exact thing a few weeks back. Some dermatologist wrote an article about how hyaluronic acid works great in humid places but in dry climates it can backfire and dry you out more. I tried the glycerin thing myself after that and honestly it just makes more sense for regular use. You don't need fancy molecules to hold water in your skin, just something simple that actually sticks around. My face feels less tight and I don't have to worry about matching it with a humidifier or whatever. The whole HA hype feels like a marketing machine that got people spending too much.

I mean, congrats on the glycerin glow but now I have to explain to my bathroom shelf why I'm cheating on my $60 HA serum with a $3 bottle of glycerin.

Ha, I went through the same thing! My wallet felt a lot lighter when I switched, but honestly my skin actually likes the cheap stuff better. After a week or two I just stopped feeling guilty about it.
