Thinking back to my early days, when skincare advice wasn't driven by likes.

Now, picking trendy treatments over what's truly needed gives me pause every time.

Yeah, @the_william is onto something. Like how everyone talks about the new phone but no one fixes the potholes on our street. Or at work, they focus on team-building games instead of fixing broken tools. It's a pattern where shiny new things get all the attention. Real issues get pushed aside because they're not fun to deal with. Makes you wonder what we really care about.

My friend Mark bought a new smartwatch last month. He bragged about the heart rate monitor but let his kitchen faucet drip for weeks. It's like @the_william said, chasing shiny things instead of fixing what's broken. The leak cost him an extra fifty dollars on his water bill before he finally called a plumber.
