TIL a med spa in Austin had me doing 20 minute facials during a VIP event and now I can't tell if speed or quality matters more

They booked back to back clients and I had to cut extractions and mask time in half to keep up, but everyone tipped better than my usual 60 minute sessions - has anyone else found that rushing actually pays off or does it just feel wrong to you?

Does it feel wrong? Yeah, but the tips don't lie. Clients seem happier when you're fast and friendly instead of slow and thorough. Maybe the 60 minute standard is just a way to justify charging more.

@the_nathan fair point, but tips really do spike with faster service for facials.

Figure out if the higher tips are because they actually liked the faster service or just felt bad for you grinding through back to back clients like that. I mean, did any of those tippers specifically say "wow that was way better than a long facial" or was it more of a general "thanks for squeezing me in" vibe? Cause there's a difference between people appreciating speed and people just being nice because you look stressed. If nobody actually complimented the rushed pace then you might be reading the tips wrong.
