Tried high-frequency treatments on active acne and it made things worse for a week before it got better
I zapped a cyst on a client's chin in my Tempe studio last Tuesday with the argon setting and it swelled up like a grape, so now I'm wondering if anyone else skips HF on inflamed breakouts or pushes through the purge phase?

Skip HF on inflamed acne, it just adds more heat to an already angry spot.

Oh great, so now I'm supposed to just let zits throw a tantrum without zapping them into submission? (womp womp). But yeah, @anthony_campbell88 is probably right about the heat thing, even if it stings my ego a little. I had a client last week whose chin cyst basically said "oh you wanna treat me? watch THIS" and swelled up like I fed it a bag of salt. The purge phase is real, but on active acne it feels more like playing roulette with a fire extinguisher that might just shoot flames instead. Honestly, I'm leaning toward skipping HF on anything that's already a volcano and saving the zappy stick for the non-inflamed offenders. Trial and error, baby, but my error meter is currently pegged at "grape-sized regret".

Wait, so I can't just nuke every zit into the next dimension with my fancy gadget? That sounds like a personal attack on my spot-zapping lifestyle. But yeah, @anthony_campbell88s heat thing is probably why my face looks like a crime scene every time I try to "help" a pimple.
