Client told me my cueing was too wordy and it messed up their form
Had a client last week tell me straight up, "I stop listening after the third instruction." I was giving them 4 or 5 cues per rep and they were just freezing up. Now I focus on just one correction per set, usually the tightest point. Has anyone else had to cut back their feedback to actually get better results?

Maybe the real issue is they just need more silence to feel the movement.

Hmm I gotta push back on the silence thing a bit. I think some people actually need to hear the words because their body awareness is just not there yet. If I go quiet they'll keep doing the same thing wrong and get frustrated later.

Thirty bucks says they got the message even if they didn't want to admit it... sometimes people just need to hear it straight. I had a client snap at me once for being too direct, then came back two weeks later saying it was exactly what they needed.
