I finally fixed my coffee maker after burning 4 batches

Last Tuesday morning I was already running late and my coffee maker just spewed grounds everywhere. Turned out I'd been putting the filter in backwards for two months straight, which explains why every cup tasted like dirt. Has anyone else realized they've been doing a simple thing wrong for way too long?

Try twisting the carafe lid counterclockwise, it's always stuck for me too.

Oh man, that filter thing is exactly the kind of dumb mistake I'd make too. I once spent a whole week trying to figure out why my toaster was burning everything, only to realize I'd been setting the dial to "bagel" mode instead of the regular setting. It's wild how long you can do something completely wrong and just assume that's how it's supposed to be.
