Pro tip: I wasted $75 on a 'quick fix' roof sealant spray from a big box store
It was one of those fancy cans that promised to seal a leak for a whole season, but it just washed off after two good rains here in Cincinnati. I should have just taken the time to find the actual shingle damage and patch it right. Anyone know a better brand that actually holds up, or is it always better to just do the proper repair from the start?

Ugh, that's the story with so many quick fixes these days.

Honestly, who hasn't fallen for that kind of promise on the can? I used to grab those sprays thinking I was saving a weekend of real work. But after watching my own quick fix turn into a soggy mess and cause more damage, my view totally flipped. Isn't it crazy how a shortcut can end up costing more time and money? Now I just bite the bullet and do the proper patch job from the start. It's never failed me yet, but those cans have failed every single time.
