That one comment from a client about my cueing style made me rethink everything
I had a client about 6 months ago, guy named Derek, who after a session just said "you know, when you say 'engage your core' I have no idea what you actually want me to do." At first I was a little defensive because I've been training people for like 5 years and that's just standard gym speak. But then I realized he was totally right. So I started saying things like "pull your belly button toward your spine" or "tighten like someone's about to punch you in the gut" instead. Now almost all my clients get proper form way faster. Anyone else had a moment where someone's blunt feedback actually made you better at what you do?

Flip that same blunt honesty onto yourself and see what you discover.

Holding back a little of that honesty is different from flipping it on yourself. You can be honest about others without being totally honest about yourself if you're not ready.

Did you ever try it when you weren't expecting much?
