That weird moment at the thrift store on Broad Street hit me like a ton of bricks
I was digging through a bin of old books last Saturday at the Goodwill on Broad Street and found a worn copy of a cookbook my grandma used to own. It had her handwritten notes in the margins, like "add more salt" and "bake 5 mins less." I sat right there on the floor for 20 minutes just flipping through it, and it made me realize how much I miss asking her for cooking advice. Has anyone else found something random that brought back a flood of memories like that?

That happened to me a few years ago with a stack of old vinyl records at a garage sale. Found my dad's favorite album with his initials scratched into the cover and just sat there in the driveway listening to one side on the guy's turntable. It's funny how a simple thing like that can bring back so many memories and make you feel connected to someone again.

Man, that hits close to home. @taylorellis I had something similar with an old baseball glove I found at a flea market last summer. Had someone's name written in ballpoint on the thumb, probably from the 70s. I ended up buying it and spent like an hour working it with oil in my backyard. Weird how you can feel connected to a stranger just because they broke in a mitt the same way your grandpa did.

My uncle had this old rusty socket set in his garage for like 40 years, and last spring I found a 1967 quarter wedged inside the case with some tape over it. I spent a good 20 minutes just sitting on his cold concrete floor trying to figure out what kid stuffed it in there and why. Probably me, honestly, since I was a mess as a kid and hid random stuff everywhere. Isn't it funny how the dumbest little artifacts can make you feel like you're time traveling for a second?
