The $5 fish spatula that changed my flipping game forever
Burned three scrambled egg attempts in my cast iron before I grabbed that thin metal spatula from the restaurant supply store. Why don't we learn basic kitchen tools sooner instead of fighting with plastic slotted spoons for years?

Man that's the truth! I spent way too long using a nylon spatula that couldn't get under anything, just pushed eggs around like a bulldozer. The thin metal ones are a game changer because they actually slide under food without tearing it up. Plus you can scrape up all that good browned stuff stuck to the pan without scratching it up.

Just pushed eggs around like a bulldozer" - did you switch to metal and never look back or try any other materials first?

I actually still use a nylon spatula on purpose. Not all nonstick pans can handle metal scraping, especially the cheaper ones that scratch if you look at them wrong. Plus if you let the eggs set for a second before pushing, they slide right off the nylon anyway. People act like thin metal is the only option but my nylon one has lasted years without ruining a single pan.
