TIL my neighbor's weird 'talk to your plants' thing actually works
Honestly, I always thought Mrs. Henderson across the street was a bit odd for chatting to her tomatoes every morning. Ngl, I tried it as a joke on my own sad basil plant on my apartment balcony in June. After about two weeks of just saying a few words to it while watering, the thing perked up and doubled in size, no fertilizer change or anything. Has anyone else had a totally silly habit turn out to be legit like that?

Seriously, that makes so much sense about the carbon dioxide! I mean, we're just breathing on them when we talk or sit nearby, right? Maybe the whole 'talking to plants' thing is just us giving them better air without realizing it.

No kidding, right? I used to play the radio for my old spider plant in the truck cab. I swear it grew way better with some classic rock on in the background compared to when I was gone for a few days. Maybe it's the sound vibrations or just the extra carbon dioxide from you being there talking.
