TIL that skipping my morning coffee for a week cleared up my skin completely

I always thought breakouts were from diet or stress, but three weeks ago I ran out of coffee and decided not to buy more. By day five, my face looked way less red and the little bumps near my jawline were gone. I started drinking it again last Monday and within 48 hours the bumps came back. Has anyone else noticed their skin reacting to caffeine like that?

Wait, didn't your skin just get mad because of the sudden stop? My friend Jenna had the exact same thing happen with her iced coffee habit. She quit for two weeks, skin got crazy clear, then as soon as she had a latte again she broke out in these little red bumps right above her eyebrows. She tried switching to decaf thinking maybe it was the caffeine jolt, but same reaction. Now she only drinks it like once a week and her skin stays way calmer.

Hold on, do you think there's something in the actual coffee itself that causes the redness, or is it more about how the body reacts after going without it for a while? I'm asking because I've seen people swear by bulletproof coffee and others break out from just a splash of milk. What was Jenna's reaction when she tried black coffee or a different brand? I feel like there's a big difference between the acidity of the beans and the stuff they add to them. Also, did she ever try a coffee scrub on her face? That helped a weird spot on my chin once but I'm not sure it's the same thing.

@taylor.sean my buddy Mark tried the same thing and his face looked like a tomato for a week after quitting cold turkey.
